Key facts
Our members are still responding with lifesaving aid
Three years later, with many families still living in tents or shipping containers, EAA Members continue to support people with everyday lifesaving support, such as distribution of cash vouchers so people can regain their independence and buy the basic supplies they need.
Child-friendly areas in camps are providing children with a safe place to play and socialise, and community spaces for women are allowing them to work together to improve living conditions and continue restoring some normality to their lives.
You can still contribute to our members appeals listed below:

What happened during the Turkiye-Syria earthquakes?
On the 6th of February 2023, a powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake rocked large areas of Türkiye* and neighbouring Syria, killing tens of thousands and injuring more than a hundred thousand people. Millions of people have been displaced including more than 6.8 million people who were already internally displaced within Syria prior to the earthquake.
Emergency Action Alliance’s Impactful Response
One day after the first earthquake, Emergency Action Alliance (EAA) launched an appeal for the disaster. Together, we raised over $2.3 million in disaster relief funds for the people affected, with the support from our media partners ABC and SBS.
Emergency Action Alliance charities and their local partners were among the first responders providing urgent aid. Following the search and rescue operations, the immediate priorities were access to healthcare, shelter for those who lost their homes, heating in safe spaces, blankets, warm clothes, and ensuring people had food and clean water.
The disaster took place in the middle of a freezing winter, adding even greater urgency to the relief efforts and to the provision of core relief items including blankets, hygiene and kitchen items, and solar lamps.
Without the support of our generous donors, many people would not have received critical lifesaving assistance in their greatest time of need.
