Tearfund is a Christian agency working in partnership to end poverty, challenge inequality and build sustainable communities. Following Jesus, we go where the need is greatest, acting with courage to tackle injustice so that all may experience fullness of life.

When disaster strikes, Tearfund and its local partners are usually already present, hard at work in those very places. Across the globe, we work in partnership with locally-based Christian agencies who understand the needs of their communities, and are in the best position to develop responses that are relevant and sustainable.

Tearfund supports both short-term emergency relief projects that enable disaster-affected people to survive, and medium-term recovery and rehabilitation projects. We also work hard to make sure that, as communities rebuild, they become more prepared and resilient, should disaster strike again. Tearfund is passionate about advocating for change. This way we can address many of the underlying injustices that make people vulnerable to poverty and disasters in the first place.
