ADRA
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is the official humanitarian agency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. ADRA Australia works as part of the global ADRA network, which extends into more than 100 countries. Overseas, ADRA Australia works with communities in the South Pacific, Asia, and Africa to bring transformative change.
Our work is focused in the areas of health, livelihoods, education, and disasters. In Australia, ADRA partners with local churches to run initiatives such as food pantries, community gardens, counselling, and emergency relief to help those in the community who would otherwise fall through the cracks.
ADRA Australia works within a ‘Values-based Framework’ to achieve well-being and security for people on terms that are important to them. We ensure that all members of communities have the opportunity to participate in project activities without prejudice. We seek to build the capacity of overseas partner offices and local churches to help them better serve their local communities and we seek to affirm the importance of environmental sustainability into our development programs.
