Trudi Mitchell was appointed as CEO for Australia for UNHCR in August 2022 and commenced as Deputy National Director for the organisation in 2016, with over 20 years’ experience in the not for profit sector in senior management roles.

Trudi is passionate and committed to Australia for UNHCR’s work raising funds and awareness to help empower refugees. She has seen firsthand the great work of UNHCR in places like Guatemala, Mexico, and Uganda and the impact of war and violence on refugees’ lives.

Trudi has been on the National board for the Fundraising Institute of Australia as Treasurer, WEAVE Youth and Community Services board as deputy Chair and an inaugural board member of the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association in Australia.

Trudi has a postgraduate degree in Marketing from UNSW. In 2021 Trudi was honoured to be awarded Fundraiser of the Year in the Fundraising Institute Australia’s National Awards for Excellence.
