Australia for UNHCR enables Australians to send life-saving aid to people escaping conflict, disaster and persecution.

When disaster strikes, we call on individuals, community groups and businesses to respond. Together, we ensure that the UN Refugee Agency’s teams are on the ground within 72 hours of an emergency, providing humanitarian assistance to families forced to flee.

Australia for UNHCR’s support ensures that refugees can receive shelter, water, healthcare, cash assistance, counselling, legal protection and more.

From the war in Ukraine to earthquakes in Afghanistan – UNHCR is often first in and last out in emergencies, giving communities the help they need to survive and rebuild.

With an unprecedented 114 million people now displaced worldwide, our work is more urgent than ever.
