Myanmar Earthquake
The devastating earthquake in Myanmar has left thousands in desperate need of food, water, shelter, and medical care. The Emergency Action Alliance is coordinating efforts across 15 leading Australian aid organisations to provide immediate relief to those affected.
Türkiye and Syria Earthquakes
In February 2023 a powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake rocked large areas of Türkiye and neighbouring Syria, killing tens of thousands and injuring more than a hundred thousand people.
Towns, communities and families are still living with the devastating impacts of this disaster.
In Syria this created a double crisis with large numbers of internally displaced people already living in flimsy shelters without food and water. Many Syrians have fled the devastation creating a mass refugee crisis in Türkiye.

Hunger Crisis
The hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa remains extremely severe and complex as of late 2025, driven by a convergence of climate shocks, conflict, displacement, and funding shortfalls.
Over 50 million people across the Greater Horn of Africa are experiencing acute food insecurity, with many at emergency or catastrophic levels.

War in Ukraine
The humanitarian situation in Ukraine as of October 2025 remains dire and complex, with escalating conflict, widespread displacement, and deepening civilian suffering.
12.7 million people across Ukraine require humanitarian assistance in 2025, including 2 million children. 3.7 million people are internally displaced, and 6.9 million Ukrainians are refugees abroad.
